Non-Hormone Treated Cattle

The Non-Hormone Treated Cattle (NHTC) program is a USDA-managed program established to support the production and export of beef from cattle that have not been treated with growth-promoting hormones. Participating cattle must come from approved farms, ranches, and feedlots and remain under documented controls throughout the production process. The program includes identification and recordkeeping requirements, segregation of eligible cattle, and verification procedures that help maintain the integrity of the NHTC supply chain. For Fullmer Cattle, participation in the NHTC program provides access to buyers and markets with specific requirements for non-hormone treated cattle, including certain export markets. It also gives customers greater confidence that qualifying cattle are raised and managed under a documented system with independent verification behind the claim.

Select Sires ProfitSOURCE®

ProfitSOURCE® is a Select Sires program designed to strengthen the beef-on-dairy supply chain through carefully selected genetics, reproductive performance, calf care, traceability, and marketability. The program focuses on using elite terminal beef genetics to produce calves with characteristics that are valuable further down the supply chain, while also considering fertility and overall herd economics. Our participation in ProfitSOURCE connects Fullmer Cattle with a structured genetics and calf-management program focused on producing high-quality, marketable cattle. The program brings together genetic selection and production practices with the goal of improving calf performance and creating greater value throughout the animal's lifetime. For buyers, that means cattle backed by a more deliberate approach to genetics, calf care, and traceability rather than relying solely on traditional breeding and management practices.

USDA Process Verified

USDA Process Verified is a voluntary, audit-based verification program administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). Rather than simply recognizing a general claim, the program verifies that a company's defined production processes are documented, implemented, and consistently followed. USDA auditors review the documented management system and conduct on-site audits that can include reviewing records, observing practices, and interviewing employees. Approved programs are subject to ongoing verification. For Fullmer Cattle, USDA Process Verified status provides an additional level of independent oversight around the specific production practices included in the operation's verified program. The process helps demonstrate that those practices are not merely stated policies, but documented procedures that can be consistently followed and independently verified. This gives buyers greater transparency and confidence in the production standards behind the cattle they purchase.

Dairy Calf & Heifer Association

The Dairy Calf & Heifer Association (DCHA) is a nonprofit industry organization focused on improving dairy calf, replacement heifer, and beef-on-dairy production. Founded in 1996, DCHA brings together producers, industry professionals, researchers, and allied organizations to share practical knowledge, research, management practices, and industry expertise. Its resources include the DCHA Gold Standards, which provide industry benchmarks and best-management practices for raising healthy, efficient, and profitable calves and heifers. As a DCHA member, Fullmer Cattle has access to industry education, peer knowledge, research, and established best practices related to calf and heifer management. Membership reflects a commitment to continually improving production practices rather than treating management standards as static. The organization's emphasis on herd health, performance, employee education, and profitability supports Fullmer Cattle's broader commitment to raising healthy, productive cattle and maintaining high standards throughout the operation.
